Sri lanka's Batting woe continues!

Yes you heard that right, from the Bangladesh ODIs to the England whiteball series their batting was POOR! And just as thy batted well in the ODIs. alas, 128 all out against India on a flat pitch which even 200 was able!I India won the first game quite comfortably and now they have a chance of securing the T20I series with a game to spare. Sri Lanka were disappointing in the first game but there were a few positives for them.

What happened in the last game?

India dominated the first T20I! Yes, that is what happened in the first game. India after being put into bat, scored 164 runs with Suryakumar Yadav who scored a fine 50. Shikhar Dhawan and Sanju Samson played well too but Sri Lanka made a good comeback at the death. Wanindu Hasaranga was the pick of the bowlers while the seamers used the slower balls to perfection.

 

Sri Lanka with the bat were disappointing. They just could not cope up with the pitch and they struggled. Apart from Charith Asalanka, no one got going and they need to put up a better show. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the star with a 4-fer while Yuzvendra Chahal starred with a fine show.

It is not yet confirmed if Prithi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav will play the 2nd and 3rd T20Is but Dhawan felt that they will play


Reports suggest that Hardik will not play the 2nd t20I due to his poor form.


Reports also suggest that Saddera Samarawickrama will come in for Ashen Bandara and that Dhananajaya Lakshan will come in for Praveen Jayawickrama.

Bhuvi's form is crucial for India!

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has a brilliant record against Sri Lanka and he continued his performance against them in the first T20I. He broke the back of Sri Lanka and finished with a 4-fer. India would be happy to see their premier pace bowler perform like this and this makes a good case for him to be selected for the T20 World Cup. Kumar has been economical as well in T20Is in 2021 which is a great sign for India.





Charith Asalanka impressed on his debut!

Charith Asalanka has had a good start to his T20I Career. Among all the Sri Lankan batsmen in the first T20I, he looked the most comfortable at the crease and while he was there, the hosts had a good chance of winning. Even Dasun Shanaka was impressed with his innings and now he would look to repeat his performance and help Sri Lanka get the win in the second game. Asalanka's performance is a good sign though for the hosts. However he is injured allong with Bhanuka Rajapakse -

Well Chameera ending with 2/24 at a economy of Six! is just Brilliant Chamika Karunarathne was deffenetely better than brother Niluka, as he got 1/34 at a economy of 8.50 as For AKILA DHANANJAYA just poor, And he has been confirmed to be benched 3/40 at a economy of 13.33 😶! Wanindu hasaranga was brilliant and he was demmanded to be bought for the IPL!

He ended with figures of 2/28 at an economy 0f 7!

  The Indian squad for the Sri Lanka tour of 2021 has been announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Shikhar Dhawan will be leading the India National Cricket Team in Sri Lanka. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the speedster has been named the vice-captain for the visitors. The Indian cricket team is all set to take on Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI and three-match T20I series in the month of July. The first ODI of the series will be played on July 13. A second-string squad has been named for the tour as the A-listers will all be in England, preparing for the five-match Test series. The BCCI, on Thursday, announced a 20-member limited-overs squad that will take on Sri Lanka on the limited-overs tour.
